Guidelines for Parents

Future of a child is directly linked to active and effective parental support.Nature, quality and quantum of support determines the type of adult the child will develop into. Parental cooperation also helps us in running the school programmes more effectively. Therefore parents are earnestly requested to pay attention to the guidelines given below.

  Apart from the training given by the school, students are expected to devote some time in self-study regularly at home. Supervision of the same should be arranged.

  Parents should carry out their responsibilities as joint educators in instilling in their children respect and strict adherence to all school rules.

  Parents are requested to read the contents of the school diary carefully and abide by the rules & regulations laid down by the school.

 Parents are requested to sign the reports, test papers teacher’s remarks in the notebooks/school diary so that they remain aware of the progress of their child. They are also requested to visit the teachers whenever called or during the PTMs and orientation programs..

  We expect parents and guardians to be cordial and polite with the school staff even in the most unfavorable situations. They should also expect the same behavior from the school staff, and in case they face anything to the contrary, they must take it up with the principal/Director.

  Please do not send your child to school if he/she is feeling unwell. A proper application or Medical leave must be submitted in writing by the parents.

  Parents must register a permanent mobile phone number/landline number with the school on which SMS and other alerts may be sent. In case of change, the parents MUST notify the changed number in writing within 3 days

  Wearing of fancy shoes, jewelry, unruly hair and fancy haircuts like mushroom cut streaking/highlighting of hair by fashion hair colors etc. are not permitted. Skirt hemlines are to be knee-length or more.

  Parents/Guardians are not permitted to enter class rooms to meet their children or to seek unscheduled interviews with teachers during school hours. Prior appointment for meeting the staff must necessarily be taken through the school office.Parents should always carry the I card/authorization card when they come to collect their wards from the school

  Any urgent message may be communicated at the school reception telephonically. Normal/routine calls from parents for any teacher or student during the school hours will not be entertained.

  Parents are requested to switch off their mobile phones in school premises or place it in silent mode in the school campus.

CODE OF CONDUCT FOR STUDENTS

Discipline is the law of nature. Inculcating discipline in children is one of the most significant aspects of education and is not confined to school alone. Parents too, must co-operate with the school in observing these norms/guidelines.

  Physical Education is compulsory. Exemption will be allowed only on production of a medical certificate.

  The school uniform should be immaculate, clean and smart, and should be worn on all working days and functions. Students should take pride in wearing the uniform.

  Students on their way to and from the school, are expected to conduct themselves in a responsible manner. Being on the road in any mode of transport entails caution, care and attention to safety rules.

  They should not write, scratch or engrave graffiti on desks, chairs and other surfaces.

  They should not damage or remove things belonging to other students.

  Damage done even by accident must be reported at once to the Principal/ Headmistress/Class Teacher. Anyone who notices something damaged must report the matter to any of the personnel mentioned above.

  If a student causing damage to the school property is identified, he/she may be charged with a fine. In the event of collective damage to school property, the entire group will have to bear the cost of damages.

  The school is not to be held responsible for the loss of personal belongings. It is not advisable for students to bring valuables to the school.

  Running and shouting in the covered areas is strictly prohibited. While using staircases and corridors, all must keep to the left. Loitering in the lobby and the office areas is strictly forbidden even during recess.

  No money collection for any purpose is allowed in the school without prior permission of the Principal.

  Bus escorts are responsible for orderly behavior in the bus. They have been directed to ensure that only those students who hold a valid bus pass travel in the bus. Any unruly / undisciplined behaviour while travelling in the bus, will result in withdrawal of the bus facility.

  Use of foul/ unparliamentary language is a punishable offence.

  Using unfair means in a test or examination is a grave offence. A student who is found using unfair means will be awarded zero marks in the subject and will be issued a strict warning. Repetition of the same offence will result in his/her expulsion from the school.

  Students are not permitted to carry cellular phones or any electronic gadgets to the school. Such items may be confiscated permanently.

  Crackers, fireworks, firearms or any other inflammable material are strictly prohibited inside the school premises. Students caught with any such item may be rusticated.

  Irregular attendance, unjustified or unexplained absence from school, habitual late coming, leaving the school premises without permission, disobedience and any type of unruly and objectionable behavior are considered to be grave acts of indiscipline on the part of a student. It can lead to his/her expulsion from the school.

LEAVE RULES FOR STUDENTS

  No half day leave is permitted.

  Children are expected to attend school regularly. Under affiliation Bye-Law of the Central Board of secondary Education, all students are expected to log in a minimum attendance of 75% of the total working days in the academic session. As such, no leave of absence is granted unless parents/guardians submit an application well in advance on plausible grounds for absence.

  Every student must be present on the OPENING and CLOSING day of the school just after/before any holiday exceeding 7 days.

  If an unauthorized absence exceeds a period of 15 days, it shall be presumed that parents are not willing to continue their child’s education in the school and one month notice required for TC shall start from the 16th day of such unauthorized absence. If the parents want the child to resume classes, it shall be done only with the permission of the school management. In all such cases, the name of absent student is struck off the rolls of the school, and readmission charges as per existing rules will be levied in addition to the other charges.

  Student suffering from infectious diseases such as chicken pox, cholera, Measles, Mumps, whooping cough, swine flu and jaundice etc. must observe the prescribed period of quarantine, and on returning to school, he/she must produce a fitness certificate permitting him/her to attend school. NORMS RELATING TO WITHDRAWAL OF A STUDENT FROM THE SCHOOL

  A student can be asked by the school to be withdrawn on academic or disciplinary grounds including submission of false information at the time of admission.

  Misbehaviour on the part of parent/guardian with any school staff may also lead to withdrawal of students.

  In case the parents want to withdraw the student in between an academic session, minimum one month notice is essential. Full fees till the month the notice was submitted, needs to also paid.

  Transfer Certificate (TC) is issued only after the school dues including TC charges are fully paid.

  Withdrawal of a student from the school is necessitated under certain circumstances. The norms followed in this respect are given below. Parents must read these norms carefully and comply with them.
